  2. Fill out application with current address, and be able to give two working phone numbers (both yours and a local reference).

  3. Must be a resident of Caddo County or surrounding counties.

  4. Have Social Security number ready (if you feel that you don't want to give your SS#, then we will accept your driver's license number.

  5. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

You may check out the same day you apply. The first card is free, but if you lose your card, we must charge a $5.00 fee for another card to be made.

Cell Phones

The Anadarko Community Library seeks to provide an environment conducive to study and research. So that ringing cell phones and phone conversations do not disturb that environment, library customers should observe the following: A) Upon entering the library, cell phones should be turned off or the ringer set to "silent" or "vibrating" mode. B) If a cell phone must be used, the following locations are available: vestibules--front and west side doors, outside the building. C) Anyone receiving a call should immediately put the caller on hold and move to the vestibules or outside before continuing the conversation. D) If a cell phone is used in the library vestibules, the ringer must be kept in the "silent" or "vibrating" mode and the conversation held in a low voice.

You May Have Concerns . . .

The Anadarko Community Library, in its mission to fulfill the information and entertainment needs of the entire community, maintains a large, diverse collection. The ACL is a window to the world; however, that window may contain some books and other materials you do not want your children to read or view.

The ACL respects your concerns, but the ACL is a Public Library. To restrict or censor materials based on the views of one person, a few persons, or guidelines of a group would violate the First Amendment rights of others with differing views and opinions.

To be sure your children borrow materials you consider appropriate for them, you should accompany them to the library and select books, videos, and magazines that match their reading level and interest. Your children should make decisions about what to read and what to watch with the person who knows them best - YOU.

To help the library system purchase materials that you and your family might enjoy and need for research, please offer suggestions. Titles of books and other publications are invited and will assist the library staff in its mission to provide a broad range of ideas and information. They will be purchased when they are available and when it is financially possible.
